My restaurant only allows pick up orders so asking for a zip code was not really useful. What if they wanted to pick up at a certain restaurant (not near their current location) but they do not know the zip code. It was easier for me to just list the restaurants.
I could not find this, so I just modified the Local Extensions with some code changes to support this. This is how the homepage looks like now:
This would remove the zip code functionality. It was a quick and dirty way, so you won't be able to have the Local Extensions with this modified Local Extensions installed. Here's the code to help whoever needs something similar. I also modified the home.php slightly.
