Setting delivery and minimum order values

I was going to suggest same as @anth.

After having a look. Strict Location Order must be disabled in single restaurant mode, since the customer wont have to search for their nearest restaurant, it is automatically selected.

You mentioned the Local module is not showing... After you've installed the module, you'll need switch its status to enable and save. If its still not showing, check your Home and Local layouts to see if Local module is assigned

Lets debug the local module not showing. Open extensions/local_module/views/local_module.php and at the beginning of the file paste

<?php echo var_dump($rsegment); ?>

then after you refresh your Storefront home page below the slideshow check for the word "string" and paste it here.. it should look like (string(x)="xxxx")

For the minimum order amount, did you set this amount within the delivery area box?

This is turning my head lol as i can't seem to figure why the local module is not displaying. So i will leave it for someone else to help. If you look in the view file, it says if location_search is true display the box, and in the controller file location_search variable is true when rsegment value equals "home". All the conditions are true yet its not displaying so am lost. I also have this feeling its something minor causing the problem.

Ah, so the local module is showing. In single restaurant mode the search location bar doesn't show, theres no point searching for just one location.

You have a point, however the delivery address still pass through the check during checkout. The customer can also see which area and the charges under the Info tab on the menus page.

You just have to switch back to Multi location search mode to have this feature back. All what the single location search mode option does is hide the location search feature, so if you don't want to hide you can switch back to Multi.

I think you need to enable this in extensions. The module is local.

I have ours setup with multi location even though we only have one restaurant. It works great. Users type in their postcode on the home page and if we deliver it takes them to our menu, if we don't deliver it says we don't deliver.

I am using V2.0

If I enable "Strict Location Order" in settings and choose a minimum order and delivery value in the restaurant settings, the postcode bar does not show on the menu page. When placing an order I see the message "Please type in a postcode/address to check if we can deliver to you", but nothing shows to enter an address or postcode.

I am using this in single restaurant mode.

I am still struggling with Local module not showing: V2.0

I have strict location disabled, as I am using single restaurant setting, local module is enabled and local layout is set to "content top" for both layout home and layout.

Also I have set a minimum order amount of £7.00 and this is what is showing:

Service Offered: Delivery and pick-up Free Delivery Min. Order Amount: £0.00

Not sure if the two issues are related.

Although the minimum order for delivery is set to £7.00 I am allowed to checkout if the value of the order is under this amount.

Thanks for the reply: The search bar should show otherwise there is no point selecting the delivery areas in admin/restaurant/delivery. If you select delivery areas, how are customers going to know what areas you deliver to and what the charges are.

In single restaurant mode you still need, " Please type in a postcode/address to check if we can deliver to you." on the menu page, otherwise anyone could place an order from any area.

Thanks for the reply: However, if a customer spends 15 minutes choosing items only to be told at checkout that we do not deliver to their area I don't think they would be pleased. The postcode search box should be there so they can check before ordering.

As for the charges under the info tab these don't show, I think they only show on the menus page if you are asked to enter your postcode. I have two delivery areas set up in admin, both with charges for delivery and minimum order amounts and neither are showing on the menus page. This is what is showing:

Service Offered: Delivery and pick-up Free Delivery Min. Order Amount: £0.00

Only at the checkout stage do the charges show on the menus page and in the cart.

Service Offered: Delivery and pick-up Delivery Cost: £7.00 Min. Order Amount: £7.00

Shopping carts are all about customer experience and I really do think that the search box should be there so customers can check if the restaurant delivers, and if so, what the charges and minimum values are before ordering.

I understand that, but what if people want to collect an order and they live outside of the delivery zone. They will be excluded from accessing the site.

The multi location solution would work better if the customer was outside the delivery area but could see the following:

" you live outside our delivery area but if you would like to collect your order please click here to continue"
