Category Search Not Working

I have mentioned slug as specials

1) When I go to View Menu Url be like : localhost/sitename/local/menus
2) In that page, when i category filter by clicking the category from the left side, (i.e) appetizer means, Url should go like : localhost/sitename/local/menus/appetizer
But It doesn’t go…. What’s the problem in this

sampoyigi No.. All the menus in the left side of category are having the link of localhost/sitename/local/menus only… Not localhost/sitename/local/menus/special…

sampoyigi I have done small changes in the below path
extensions/igniter/local/components/categories/items.php

In the marked line, I have modified the left href instead of right from the marked //

Now the output has been For Breakfast Menu (See the marked line the below URL)

For Main Course

Is this the right way?? Or can we done the same via Admin Panel… Please let me know

karthikdevaraj Right, <?= page_url('local/menus', ['category' => $category->permalink_slug]) ?> should return localhost/sitename/location_slug/menus/special not localhost/sitename/local/menus if the permalink for your _pages/local/menus page is set to /:location?local/menus/:category?

But don’t know, where should i change / mention / include the location_slug variable since its not included in extensions/igniter/local/components/categories/items.php
Could you guide / update me the page

karthikdevaraj The location_slug is added to the permalink automatically based on the current location, see the code here. You could also do something like <?= page_url('local/menus', ['location' => Location::current()->permalink_slug, 'category' => $category->permalink_slug]) ?>

output is also working fine… But my question, is it the right way to modify the code in extensions/igniter/local/components/categories/items.php or can we control the same via admin panel..

karthikdevaraj Sorry, I thought you were trying to render the categories component on a different page. The original code should work the same as the modified code. Go to System > Settings > Setup > Order, see if your Menus Items Page is set to local/menus?

But It doesn’t work unless I have modified the code like the below

I don’t know what am missing??? Better Step by Step tutorials either video or screenshot for this entire TastyIgniter will give the solution… since, your document for this TastyIgniter is partially documented in https://tastyigniter.com/docs

karthikdevaraj I have no idea really why it is not working for you. Agreed some tutorials are needed and there are plans to add some tutorial contents at some point.
