Email notifications sending when they shouldn't and the other way around

Hi,

Been configuring TastyIgniter for quite a few days now and I’m very happy with how things are working out. Most of my issues I have been able to resolve using this forum or Github, however for this one I can’t seem to find a solution.

I kept 5 statuses under Sales - Statuses to clean up the list a little bit with the notifications in “Completed” and “Cancelled” switched off and in “Preparation”, “Pending”, and “Received” switched on.

When I place an order I do get a confirmation that my order has been received however when changing it to Preparation or Pending I don’t get an email where I should and when changing it to Completed I do get an email when I shouldn’t.

I was thinking to switch of email notifications and put it in the “Automation” extension but first wanted to see if it can be fixed in the native application.

anthonyvdberghe When changing the order status, the option you choose under Notify Customer will be used not the Email notification settings under the status edit page.

Hi Sam,

The option “Notify Customer” follows nicely with the selected status. Even when manually changing the "Notify Customer’ several times on the order the issue stays the same.

Now I have been playing around a little bit with it via mailtrap (to rule out my SMTP server) and now I notice that on the first status change no email is sent but on the second change it does send an email. It also keeps mailing on status “Completed” even when explicitly asking not to notify the customer of this message. This is happening at every status change (including received, completed, cancelled)

Could it be that somewhere in the code an email is sent if a certain variable (status?) is set but it does not set this variable after selecting a new status first?
