local search by address

hi everyone, I’m testing the operation. but I can’t understand how the locating search works. I mean, I have entered two restaurants per post code “83042” but when I search from the home page it does not direct me to a page where I can select which restaurant to order from .. but rather directs me directly to restaurant “1”. how can i search by address, city post code or other and then select which restaurant to order from? i can’t understand this how it works .. hope you help me … thanks

The type of search you want is available at /locations - the home page search finds the closest restaurant.

You could change the homepage search form to direct to the locations url with the right parameters to achieve what you want.

Hello, thanks for the answer, in fact from the home I can only be directed to 1 restaurant, while from “location” I can find restaurants based on the search.
I have been trying for 10 days but I have not really understood the system, sorry.
Could you direct me to how to change the home to be able to search based on my search criteria? I would be grateful.

I’m trying .. but I can’t understand how it works and where to “dig”.
On the home page I find the local search component (which then directs me to the nearest local)
I have tried to insert other compenti for the search.
But without success 🙁
If you can please try to explain to me so that I can understand better and work on it.

You just need to amend the HTML of the theme file to add a new form and then style it - you dont need to add a component.

I don’t know where to enter the form, and which form to enter to search from the home page.

remove the local search component - add HTML for a form that GETs to /locations, the text field should have a name “search”.

At a very basic level - this, but you’ll need to style it and add other HTML to make it sit right on the page. I cant help with that.

Thanks !! I finally succeeded! Obvious html is not a problem. it was this search function targeting restaurants that I didn’t understand!

one last question regarding positions.
If in location I search for a city. Example “Rome” and no restaurant is associated with it, it tells me that there are no restaurants .. then if I look for “Naples” where there are restaurants, it doesn’t find them telling me no position found.
If I close the browser and clear the cache and immediately search for “napoli” I find the restaurants.
is it a position memory problem?
Do you know how I can solve?

only the restaurant name logo and reviews comes out
I would like to send out the address .. the street the city as it appears in the menu

Hi I had changed the answer because I solved it with the button (I asked how to connect a search button and I solved it)
I would need to know how to make your address appear on the page / locations in the list of restaurants.

You can edit the local list partials and add the local address

You want the local list partial - should be local extension components folder. On my phone so can’t be exact - just look around there.
