For a transaction to be authorized, your Merchant Service Provider (MSP), payment processor and Authorize.Net must all be configured to accept the card type being submitted with the transaction (for example, American Express, Discover, etc.).

To verify the card types that your Authorize.Net account currently accepts: Log into the Merchant Interface at https://account.authorize.net. Click Account from the main toolbar. Click Merchant Profile from the menu on the left. Under Payment Methods, review the card types listed.

I am testing Authorize.Net and when paying with American Express, JCB or Diners Club, I receive an error message that these cards are not accepted although the payment logo says they are accepted.

The cards are listed as accepted cards in admin.

For American Express and Diners Club I receive " (TESTMODE) The merchant does not accept this type of credit card."

For JCB I receive "We only accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Jcb, Diners Club"

Not sure if this is anything as it shows for all transactions, card or COD. The error log shows:

Thanks for the reply. I only have sandbox account so I will see if there are any changes I can make in my account there.

I will have to contact Authorize as you do not have access to Merchant Profile with the sandbox account. I would have thought with a sandbox account all cards would be set as default. But I will wait to see what they have to say.

I have spoken with Authorize,net and they told me that with a sandbox account only Visa and MasterCard are activated by default. They said they could help by activating Diners Club, American Express and JCB which they have done and all seems to be working okay.
