Cannot create banner on homepage

We are trying to create a banner and a slider for the homepage. We are using orange theme and child theme. Please see screenshot how I create banner and also in module.

The slider now comes automatically with my theme website. But I want to add slider and banner 2 inside my homepage. Now just slider comes. But if I add a banner, it doesn’t show on homepage. How can I add my banner?

pizzabutlers You can as many banners as you have. Just repeat the steps to add a new banner click on it and it will display a dropdown with the list of all your banners. Choose the one you want and copy the alias (each banner has a unique alias) So you end up with something like this

Hi,
You can add Image to existing Banner Slider, you can go to Design > Banners & Sliders > Sliders Button from top right, or after login to admin you can go http://your.site/admin/igniter/frontend/sliders
you can see the list of Sliders or default by one.
so that you can create new one as you want. and assign it in your theme.
Design > Theme > Edit > Page
find home page, Click on Slider Component, Select your Slider from Select box and save.
now you are done!

We have done that but the banner doesn’t appear on the homepage.

You would like to add slider image for default banner or want to replace default one!?

yoursantu we’d like to add a banner above address box and a slider below address box. We;re in the pizza business so its really important to get nice pictures of pizza on homepage. So where the slider is now we’d like that for a big logo graphics and the pizza pictures below. We added banner correctly but it doesn’t work

pizzabutlers when we try to edit pages on the orange theme it says the theme is locked. Is this correct or how to unlock the theme.

Look for theme.json at themes > tastyigniter-orange
and change “locked”: true, to false.
but the child theme should works

Yeah best to make it a child theme of tasty orange and only amend the partials /pages / layouts you need to change. That way you get updates without having to really changes every time.

ryanmitchell the child theme won’t create the new slider or banner on homepage. Are you saying that if you unlock the theme and change banners in the main theme your changes will be wiped during updates?

Yep as far as I know that’s what happens. That’s why the theme is locked
