Order invoice not emailing to customer

Hi, I seem to remember after first setting up tasty igniter that if one orders something with cash on delivery, that the person gets an email with their order total and items ordered. There is an email template for that in the admin panel as well. However, whenever I order something with the cash on delivery option, there is no invoice set. Email seems to be working in tasty igniter because I can get the emails for order updates just fine, just not the initial order confirmation.

I also ensured that the order confirmation is sent to the customer too. Any ideas/code to look at to see why this event is not working?

Yes the order notification should be sent out if you have “To customer” selected System -> Settings -> Setup -> “Send Order Confirmation/Alert Email”

I checked that and tried toggling that, but it still doesn’t send. I’ll attach some screenshots. Additionally, the mail setting works when clicking send test email and also only order updates, just not the initial invoice that is supposed to be sent.
The system log reports no errors. I’m on v3.0.4-beta.25.2

Anywhere else to look?

Hmm, worth checking through error logs to see if there is anything there. Also check your sync settings (config/queue.php) is set to sync ?

Yeah looks as expected… you probably need to debug it on your side to find the root of the error I’m afraid. It will be next to impossible for us to work it out without an error or an understanding of why its happening.

Yeah, it did work before, just wanted to see if you all had any other tips. I will start looking at sendmail logs and such. THanks for your help, I really do enjoy this project!

I did some digging and it seems that for an unknown reason at the moment, that the event for paymentProcessed is not firing. I tested to ensure it wasn’t an email delivery issue by checking if it was sent, then changing the listener for the order confirmation email send to orderStatusAdded… It then worked as expected (for that event anyway) by sending the order email after updating the order status in the admin panel. Will see why this is happening

Are you sure you’re on the latest beta? The methodology for the email being sent was changed here:

ds8516 I have experienced the same issue, the order confirmation is not sent(no error messages either), but if I change the order status manually in the backend, the email can be sent successfully. The alerting part is that I have only the payment on delivery as the payment option. ryanmitchell could you help to point me where could I find the logic when the order placed event is triggered? In the Tools -> Automations, I see there’s an event called Order Placed Event - When an order is placed (after successful payment) would it be possible that the behaviour is casued by the fact that the order with payment on delivery doesn’t fulfuill theafter successful payment condition?

I am, double checked and also confirmed those diffs are present. That seems to be related to the changing of status emails from Received -> Pending as opposed to the big invoice email that I am having issues with. If I do find why and it’s a real issue, I’ll be glad to raise the issue

Maybe if there is an automation failure, check the logs for that

admin.order.paymentProcessed is still fired on cash on delivery / collection / no charge orders and the email is triggered.

It seems like the event is not firing proper as I’ve had to change the event to igniter.cart.addOrderStatus and check if the order status is received for those emails to send out. I’ve tried this on a cPanel server running PHP 7.4 with proper plugins and supported DB and also in docker with same PHP version and DB and it still didn’t work correctly w/linux
