Hi i have tried to setup the Kitchen dispay extension since the idea seems brilliant. but the orders do not show in the view. the view is just empty.

leif Have you configured the view accordingly? Try choosing the locations, type of orders, statuses and all the menu items.

Also….does your site have orders?

I have made a fresh install wih the default data.
i then installed the Kitchen dispaly and sat it up
hereafter i made some orders, and they showed up in the order tap under sales
but they did not show up in the kitchen dispay.
i tried to make differet view for different staff mand made the display visible for them, but it turned up blank

It looks really good - exactly what i was looking for :-)
i have set it up like that
I guess i have some permission rights issue. like on the front page (store page) the “view menues reservation login” link do NOT show up.

leif To fix the issue of the missing links on navbar go to Admin -> Design -> Static Pages -> Static Menus. Then refresh storefront.

Regarding the kitchen display. Do you have any existent orders?

I’ve installed TastyIgniter in Ubuntu 20.04 without any problem.

i hav set it up on a ubuntu 20.4 server with apache and php.
maybe it is not the setup

mlattke it seems like i have some issues with my installation.
i use the cloud service linode to male a ubuntu 20.04 server. I now tried to install it severel times both the “quick” way and the command line installation and followed the post installation for Apache. But now I even get trouble installing the extensions.
so I think the reason the kitchen view doesn’t show up correctly could be related to the installation.
I will try again since the concept looks extremely good.

For any KD issues with orders not showing up, please make sure you are using v2.0.7. Any version before that will not show orders if your menu items are not assigned to a category.

v2.0.7 will show orders even if the menu items do not have a category assigned to them. It is a “catch-all” and not relying on the menu item configuration before selecting the order for display.

My testing was on a ubuntu 20.04 installation on Windows WSL and everything works except emailing using my Office 365 subscription.

i have reinstalled TI several times now and TI is working fine. i use the latest KD ver 2.0.7. and i got the menu link on the frontpage.
For this purpose i just use the demo data. I can place orders and have done it from different IP addresses, i have tried different browsers and PC’s, to see if that had some influence. i am logged in as owner with all the rights. But i still just get blank kitchen display.
now this is strange !!??

Take screen shots of your configuration and I will review to make sure all is good from that perspective.

Are your menu items in categories. If they are not That might be the issue.

WOW - Now it Workes. The menu items need categories.
Thanks a lot for all the help i have got - and what a nice system, now it workes :-)

Yep in v2.0.4 or higher

Except that it looks like he is running a non-current version of TI. All updates are targeted at the current version of TI. Update TI by following the same update routine you use to update an extension.
