Tax_percentage error & mobile view categories not expanding

20% of £12 is £2.40 so why should it show as £2.00 instead? Is the calculation different when tax is included?

Thank you for explaining. Just one more thing, how do you calculate the 1.2, or is it a standard figure or just 10% of the amount? Or if you have anything on tax calculations from the internet.

I took a look at this:

l am using VAT @ 20% for this example.

Say you have a menu price of £12.00 and you choose "menu price already includes tax" it shows as "(20% included): £2.40" but the tax included should show as £2.00.

The script is adding tax at 20% and not including the tax when you choose the "menu price already includes tax" option.

The calculation is different if the VAT is included.

If you add VAT on £12.00 it is £2.40. To find the VAT when it is included in the price you divide by 1.2 which is £2.00

The above is for the calculation of VAT @ 20%

1.2 is the ratio for VAT at 20%. If VAT was 23% the ratio would be 1.23

And you calculate the ratio by dividing the VAT figure by 100 and adding 1 (20/100+1 = 1.2

To make it easier just put 1 in front of the VAT rate. So 20% becomes 1.20, 17.5% becomes 1.175, and 5% becomes 1.05

Hope that makes some sense.

I have looked at your website and noticed that you have / in your categories. This might be why you can't open when on a mobile, it may classed as a special character.

Try removing it from your categories as an experiment to see if it makes a difference.

I am glad it worked for you.

I also noticed that you can't see all your categories on the menu page without scrolling to the bottom. I had the same problem and I reduced the padding for the categories.

If you go to: extensions/categories_module/views/stylesheet.css – line 19,

you will see "padding: 10px 15px;" change the 10 to 5 and this will bring in the categories so they can all be seen.

Make a back up of the file before making any changes.

Hi,

im testing the 2.1.0 rc1.

The incl. tax calculation has a error:

e.g.: 10,85 € order

tax_percentage calculates the incl tax by 10,85 *0,07= 0,76 € but if the menu price already include the tax, the calculation has to be: 10,85 € : 107 x 7 = 0,71 €...

could you please tell where to fix this ?

secondly, if i use mobile in my shop, i cannot expand categories ---> not order at all

other way of getting to know included tax amount is, as i did in first post:

example : german incl. vat of 7 %

amount (12 €) divided by 107 * 7 = already included VAT (0,79 €) because your total amount equals 107% when tax is included you divide by 107 and then multiply by 7 to extract this 7% which is already included

it was in fact the slashes and also the brackets ( ) around the yoghurt. now it is working perfectly. :-)
