Processing Orders

We have similar thinking. At present we have a laptop setup and when an order comes through we get an email, we have changed the incoming email sound and then we make up the order looking at the screen. I am looking at ways to get this printed out quickly. Thought about an automatic email forwarder so it forwards the order to SMS but my operator doesn't allow email to sms by the looks of it

Hi, I am thinking about the most efficient way to process orders. Probably the easiest option will be a cheap android tablet which gives a push alert every time an email with a new order arrives. But what could you do to even improve that? I am thinking about automatic printing with a thermal printer. If possible with the android device, so that you dont need a pc running all the time. There are POS thermal printers starting at about 50€ on ebay, but does anyone know if and how it could be possible to use them with tastyigniter?

Once solution for this would be to purchase a printer with an email address. Then when you receive an order it will print out automatically.

Why not just a 'kitchen display' where orders gets shown automatically marked with a bright color?
