Send orders to a kitchen's receipt printer?

Hey everyone,
I'm looking into building a website with Wordpress and having an "Order Online" link that goes directly through TastyIgniter.

Right now the way it looks is that any restaurant order gets emailed to your email but how can I make it send to the restaurant's receipt printer so the chef can cook the meals fast? My client does not want it to go to an email.

Please help!

You can utilize Google Cloud Print so when you get the email for the confirmation of the order, it will automatically print out the order. You will have to change the format of the confirmation email if you are printing to thermal receipt printers though, since they’re obviously smaller.

Wow, that is brilliant! How is GCP connected to your email? I'm guessing you are using Gmail? I'm actually putting something similar together for v3 but it sends the print job directly to the printer.

[unknown] Perfect! I've been actually looking into Google Cloud Print but wasn't sure if that would work at all or not! I am building the website through Wordpress but then a specific page for Online Ordering using Tasty Igniter so this is all perfect news! Thanks! ?

[unknown] So my client does not have a computer in their pizzeria. Can we set it all up here in my company office and then download their printer driver to forward the print to their restaurant printer? Just trying to find a workaround.

Mathew123 Does the pizzeria have Internet? If so, and the printer is capable of being printed to via cloud print, many manufacturers now have this option, then you should be able to send the email to that printer from anywhere in the world!

Another option is to utilize the Kitchen Display extension to process the orders via a touch screen in the pizzaria. No printing required, just a touch enabled device (if no internet then use a phone or LTE capable tablet) and the processing via the Kitchen Display will automagically send email to whomever you need it to.
