HELP! Can't reset password!

Hey, guys!

I’m having the issue that my reset password function is not working at all.
When someone just forgets his password, then he cannot login my site forever because he can’t update his password even though he gets the password reset mail and types new one!
After typing in new passwords, then my site says “Password reset failed, reset code is either invalid or expired”.

Can someone explain what’s going on here? Thank you!

What type of web server are you each using?

Was the password reset working for your users before?

Are you able to login into your dashboard, update your admin password, save, and use the new password to log in to the dashboard ?

I confirm, I have exactly the same problem on the 3.0.4 beta20.1 version.
Can anyone help with a solution?

In your specific Apache configuration, in the .htaccess file, did you leave “# RewriteBase /” commented?

If you did leave it commented, try removing the comment and test the your user’s password reset.

I tried to uncommenting “RewriteBase” directive in the .htaccess file, but that didn’t help.
We have the same error: ‘The reset code is either invalid or expired.’
I think the matter is something else..

Hi I already created a pull request with a fix to the issue, you can check it here https://github.com/tastyigniter/ti-ext-user/pull/3, basically there is a ! missing in the code which is responsible for checking if the reset code is valid and not expired
