Detect Browser Language not working

I have enabled detect browser language and the application as been built correctly to support multiple languages.

The problem:
When my browser has a default language of ‘en’ and the application has a default of fr_FR, with the detection enabled, it should use the correct translations, however it does not.

I also tried to change my default language on my browser to ‘fr’ and the app to default to en_EN but this does not work either
Any reason why?

atrent Have you installed the language files and created the new language un Admin panel? If so, change your default language to the new language and save. Does the site shows this new language?

mlattke Yes, I have created the new language in the admin panel.
When changing the default language to another language, the site does show the new language

But, should this not be in English if my browser is in English due to the “detect browser language” being enabled?

atrent Did you added the files corresponding to that new language?

mlattke Yes, they have been downloaded from there and files have been added

atrent If you edit the language in Admin -> Localisation -> Languages you can actually see the translated strings ?

Yes, the languages are there and when I switch to another language the admin panel and site will also change to that language
That works
It’s just it won’t recognise the browsers language and change to that when the setting is enabled, thus I shouldn’t see a translated version as my browser is defaulted to English

Default language is set to French in admin panel
Browser language set to English

Site language displays in French (but needs English)
