I’m happy to say I have just released a printer extension for TastyIgniter to the market place. https://tastyigniter.com/marketplace/item/thoughtco-printer It supports USB (ESC/POS), IP/Network Printing (ESC/POS) and printing through the Epson ePOS network web service. You can add multiple printers per location, format the docket per printer, and can limit what is printed to each device by category selection. Hey, I just paid for the extension. It still doesn’t show up on my admin panel. How does this exactly work ?

The caching issue was fixed in v3.0.4-beta.22 so the item will appear in the admin dashboard after purchase if you are using the latest version.

@bima the settings very much depend on your local printer setup, so a video would not be universal. Feel free to reach out to me on Slack and I will guide you as best I can.

Thanks, the problem has been fixed, but the order total information is missing in the order receipt.

bima as in the info is blank or the variable remains in the print out? Might be easier to reach out on slack and we can debug.

Last problem, is this support UFT-8 or GBK chinese encoding ? None of the existing encoding options seem to support Chinese

That depends on your printer really. If you need another option added you can do it manually, or reach out on Discord and I can work to add it to the main printer releases.

Am sure my printer can print chinese character with my pos app.
I found have chinese encode “gb18030” in encoding-index.js , and I added “gb18030” to model/Printer.php getEncodingOptions(), but it not work, It prints some garbled characters no Chinese characters.

Is there anything else I need to modify?

Not sure, depends on the printer and I havent really tested Chinese characters using the proxy app. You could try just returning $string in removeUnprintableCharacters() in PrinterFunctions - asides from that I would need to purchase the actual printer and test on it to be able to help any further.

I bought the Printer extension and I tryed to use it on Chrome with POS 58mm printer on Windows.
I’ve used the Zadig to replace the printer driver to WinUSB v6.1.7600. Now on Tasty Igniter, ruuning on a cloud server, I’ve pared the print on Setup USB device but when I’m trying to printer on manual button Print, it says: Could not connect to device.
Can you help me?

@avelinocneto are there any errors in the browser console? Some people have had success by turning off asset combiner - enableAssetCombiner false in config/system.php

Glad you got it working.
No, Bluetooth support is not possible with the way WebBluetooth is implemented… I spent a lot of time working on it, but unfortunately it requires a user interaction per print, so it wont work with autoprint, so I cant add support.

I have some orders that will NOT print, but most will, how can we look into that?
I don’t see anything in system logs ?

All I see is this errror.

ressel Thats telling you the printer is no longer available, or is already printing something else. Are you connecting to it from multiple sources? It can also sometimes happen if you have a sleep mode enabled on the printer. Its unlikely to be something I can help you debug as there are too many variables related to your local network.

I’m using USB, I find the possible issue with sleep mode not relevant, if I keep clicking print on “problem” orders, I keep getting the shown error, if I print next order, everything is fine.

So im pretty sure the issue is something with the orders, perhaps the comment field or something?

ressel Perhaps there is a character there that the character set you have selected doesnt support. It would be worth seeing if you can identify which.

ressel Seems possible. Sounds to me like you dont have the right character set and codepage combination set to handle that.
