I’m happy to say I have just released a printer extension for TastyIgniter to the market place. https://tastyigniter.com/marketplace/item/thoughtco-printer It supports USB (ESC/POS), IP/Network Printing (ESC/POS) and printing through the Epson ePOS network web service. You can add multiple printers per location, format the docket per printer, and can limit what is printed to each device by category selection. Hey, I just paid for the extension. It still doesn’t show up on my admin panel. How does this exactly work ?

The caching issue was fixed in v3.0.4-beta.22 so the item will appear in the admin dashboard after purchase if you are using the latest version.

@bima the settings very much depend on your local printer setup, so a video would not be universal. Feel free to reach out to me on Slack and I will guide you as best I can.

Thanks, the problem has been fixed, but the order total information is missing in the order receipt.

bima as in the info is blank or the variable remains in the print out? Might be easier to reach out on slack and we can debug.

ESC/POS Printing

ryanmitchell I received my thermal ESC-POS (58mm) printer today. Installed its drivers on my Windows Laptop. Later Setup this printer under Tools->Printers and tried printing a Invoice docket. However its still unable to print. This time the console shows following message….what may be wrong now

What printer is it? Did you try installing the generic driver through zadig (referenced in the read me)?

ryanmitchell Its a HOIN ESC/POS printer (HOP-H58). http://www.hoinprinter.com/en/products/show/58mm-Thermal-Printer-6

Printer is detected and listed under “Setup Printer” option and shows paired on selection. However gives the above mentioned error during print.

I had installed Zadig’s WinUSB driver before installing the HOIN printer driver. Do you wan me to reinstall Zadig again?

Btw, does the above error stack give you any clue?

Yes, the error stack indicates the device is not allowing it to be used as WebUSB, see: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/50591991/webusb-api-protected-interface-class-error

My hope is that using Zadig’s driver might work around this for you.

Just a recommendation for future update. If possible it may be good to have an option in the interface to unpair a printer that may have got paired by mistake.

For anyone planning to buy ESC-POS Extension, I highly recommend to go for it. Its Location specific setup is a great feature. Ryan is a great support..

@ryanmitchell It may be helpful to define additional tokens to enable specific Text alignments ( Left, Center & Right) in lieu of default alignments.
Something like
<< for Left
>> for Right
^^ for Center

re: unpairing - as it can be done through browser settings I’m not altogether keen to add an interface element.

re: alignment - yes this is a good suggestion - I would be keen to follow markdown as much as possible to keep it familiar however there doesnt seem to be a consensus on this in different implementations. I’ll have a think about how to handle it.

If it’s an Ethernet printer you need to follow the instructions for that in the readme file. You’ll need to use the proxy app linked to in that document.
