Ubuntu Server Setup

Hi,

I’m trying to set this up on an ubuntu server because it seems I cannot get this working locally on windows without uploading to a live server. I am struggling to get anywhere with regards to the database connection, no matter what I’m doing, following a bunch of tutorials on setting up a MySQL database in ubuntu but every time I try to connect in the setup.php process it is just refusing the connection all other.

Any ideas?

robhowdle have you created the db user and assigned the permissions to the db?

mlattke I did. Everything got set up fine it just refused to connected. Wiped it and started again seems to have worked this time. Well sort of having permissions issues now but I’ll open another issue for that.
