Change Tax Type

Hi,
I have seen the the Tax type is set default to VAT. how can it changed to GST?
In India, there were applied 2 types of Taxes Central and State GST (CGST & SGST Types) with different slabs for each item.
so how could i change Tax type!?

@yoursantu you would need to write an extension that adds a new cart condition to handle that - use the igniter/cart/conditions/Tax.php as a base - you should be able to amend it to add the additional tax rate(s) you require.

so i have to add 2 input fields CGST & SGST for each admin menu item . and add it to cart condition right!?

I don’t know anything about indian tax codes so I cant answer how best to handle it!

Let you more clear,
In my case i have to apply tax for each item that may have different tax rates. so that it is better to mention for each menu items and add them to cart condition right!?
In Opencart the user able to create different Tax Classes, so the admin can apply the tax rate slab when create the Product.

Yes - you could write a new controller and model for handling tax rates, and then add a field to the menu items through the extension to allow those to be selected.

You then need to write a custom condition to calculate the tax rate.

Its all very possible - you just need to work on it or get a developer to do it for you.

Hi,
I am working on custom tax which i mentioned earlier,
and i amended some changes for cart, to pass 2 custom parameter (cgst, sgst) from ti_menus table to calculate tax from each menu items.
I am trying to apply custom tax condition cart, but it does not take any effect!!
I just want to take tax rate from each menu item and calculate the tax price and apply it to cart total.
