Broadcast Event Listener

Dear Team, Friends,
I am wondering where is the code on the Dashboard module which listens to the broadcast event and shows the new order notification. Can you please help me locate it? The reason I am looking for it is that my browser is not showing the notification and hence there is no sound alert upon receiving a new order. Hence I want to setup a custom alert that plays the audio upon new order.

mlattke Thanks. I see only code to send the message upon certain events in the Broadcast Extension. But actually, I am looking for the code in the Admin dashboard module which is listening to the Broadcast / Pusher queue and takes actions as soon as there is a new message using broadcast.

ryanmitchell I have installed the Broadcast extension and the way it is updating the notification in the admin dashboard “Bell Icon dropdown” about the order detail and updating the count. I am trying to find this code which is updating the dropdown upon receiving the broadcast event as soon as there is a new order. Once I am able to get it, I want to set up a custom alert, as some browsers are not supporting browser notifications.

ryanmitchell Thanks. This seems to be exactly what I was looking for. From the screenshots, I see there are accepted and decline with reason options. So how does this work if I decline? Does the user wait untill I accept / decline and in case I decline, does the user see on the order screen that the order was a decline due to a specific reason? Is there a demo where I can try it before purchasing?

The marketplace doesnt facilitate try before you buy.

You need to set it up with a payment provider that is set up to allow authorise & capture as separate steps (TI supports Authorise.net and Stripe for this). The customer make the payment and its authorised, but not captured until you click accept.

If you decline you can either add the text to an email the customer receives, or you can set to a certain status with text associated with it and they will see that onscreen. You can also delay orders.

ryanmitchell Thanks Ryan. It would have been great if there was a screenshot/demo, showing how the user sees the status on their screen. Without a demo, it may be surprising to know that one of the features we were looking at is not present in the extension after the purchase. What is the support model after purchase?

ryanmitchell I meant, there is no screenshot to show from the client-side. Example: If the admin declines with a message, how the message will be displayed on the order screen to the user.

That depends on what status you associate the decline with - TI allows for statuses to be added so you can add them and the user will see the associated message on the order status page.

the extension also adds mail variables so you can update the customer by email with the decline status.
