Admin folder missing

I’ve run the install twice now and there’s no admin folder in the root at the end. How can I fix this? I can see only one other post mentioning this but no reply to it.

Hi howard91447448 , in the latest versions the admin folder is not in the root but is part of the app folder

Dejosel Okay, I see that now. Why does the button take me to /admin/logon? There’s something not right about this. When I go to /app/admin/logon it gives me a 404 and if I just go to /app or /app/admin is shows a directory listing which I know I can change in .htaccess. But should I be doing this?

Dejosel I was referring to the button which appears and the end of the install. It’s gone now of course but my question was why did this try to load admin from the site root? Anyway, that’s less important as to why, even though I see admin in the app folder, it still doesn’t load. I’m trying to save myself time by eliminating any local apache config issues I might have as opposed to installation errors.

it would be nice if you can show a screenshot… generally if you can’t access the admin of the site it is due to problems in the apache configuration or permissions on your files/folders

Dejosel I can show a screenshot but of what? Essentially, there’s an admin folder where I didn’t expect it. Now I know where it is, I see there’s no index.php or other file to load when I go there. All I’m looking for is an explanation of how to load the admin page. This is the content of my admin folder.

I am having the same issue, The setup page links to hostname/admin/login but that page doesn’t exist. The default index.php page has the same url for the admin centre.

This is most likely a webserver configuration issue. If you’re using Apache, make sure mod_rewrite is enabled and that the site root of your installation has AllowOverride set to All. Also make sure .htaccess file in root directory is there.

OP may have had the issue correct itself when Apache restarted after a configuration change/update.
