I’m happy to say I have just released a printer extension for TastyIgniter to the market place. https://tastyigniter.com/marketplace/item/thoughtco-printer It supports USB (ESC/POS), IP/Network Printing (ESC/POS) and printing through the Epson ePOS network web service. You can add multiple printers per location, format the docket per printer, and can limit what is printed to each device by category selection. The caching issue was fixed in v3.0.4-beta.22 so the item will appear in the admin dashboard after purchase if you are using the latest version.

Thanks, the problem has been fixed, but the order total information is missing in the order receipt.

bima as in the info is blank or the variable remains in the print out? Might be easier to reach out on slack and we can debug.

Has anyone managed to print Chinese characters onto a receipt? I’ve seen its possible with the Thermal printers as other companies have done it, just wondering how out the box it is with this plugin and the Epson thermal printer.

Unfortunately I don’t have it with me anymore to test as it away at the Restaurant, but has anyone tried?

neogrant should be possible with the plugin as you can choose the character set to use on the output. I’ve seen receipts printed in other languages so cant see why it wouldnt work.

ryanmitchell Character set - is that on the printer settings its self? What about encoding, does that need to change?

Both depend on your printer and docket. Encoding is what your docket language/character encoding is. Codepage is what your printer code page for that encoding is.

Don’ t know if they sell a wireless version. Yea that’s the USB model which works fine with chrome or edge (browser needs to support web usb).

a few others have used a similar set up succcessfuly.

Hi @ryanmitchell, I purchased the app, and everything is ALMOST working. But i get an error of “Cannot connect to printer” when I try and print. I’ve set it up as a USB printer, it finds it in the chrome browser and says it’s paired. If i try printing a screen shot from chrome to the thermal printer it prints properly, so i know it is connected and can print from the browser. It is a STAR TSP 650II Printer. Any thoughts?

ryanmitchell The device actually is present when i hit setup. It just won’t print when i tell it to print. I downloaded Zadig and installed the winusb driver but it has not changed anything

Are you sure the printer is using the WinUSB driver- 9 times out of 10 this is the issue.
If not, you’ll need to provide console error messages for me to be able to look into it.

ryanmitchell You are absolutely right. I’ve fixed it with the WinUSB driver being installed and can now print. The final issue is that the printer no longer cuts the paper. I’ve got it set to cut after each docket. Is that possible when using the WinUSB driver to still have it cut?

Cutting should work if your printer supports the cut command. Try adjusting the cut settings on the printer settings as well as the docket settings. Could be a bug, also could be a misconfiguration.

Just a short question: Is it possible to get access to the delivery area in the docket layout?
We have the problem that in our city we have several districts where it is totally fine to write just the city name, but for the drivers/delivery persons it would be very convenient to see the selected area.

Thanks! Unfortunately I don’t think the delivery area is linked to the order to allow this.

you can turn on the QR code in the customer receipt which routes you to maps for directions. That may help?

Another question: We had the issue that a docket will not be printed when a comment (global order comment or an item comment) contains an emoji. Is their an easy way to remove such characters before printing?

What connection method are you using? You could try changing the order comment blade tag from

{!! $order_comment !!}

We are using the IP/Network connection.
Will test the change to {{ $order_comment }} and will report back, but this will be perhaps delayed.

Howdy, I’m trying to get this setup. The order approver updates the order to the “Printed” status but the ticket is not printed.

There is no error saying that the printer cannot connect, so it seems like the printer is connected. I also have nothing in the log indicating an error.

The printer setup says “Paired” on the USB printer and the bar at the bottom says “Idle”, but if I try to manual print I get a message saying that it could not connect to the printer.

When trying via the auto print page, it does show that the order was printed with no errors, but the order was not printed.
