I’m happy to say I have just released a printer extension for TastyIgniter to the market place. https://tastyigniter.com/marketplace/item/thoughtco-printer It supports USB (ESC/POS), IP/Network Printing (ESC/POS) and printing through the Epson ePOS network web service. You can add multiple printers per location, format the docket per printer, and can limit what is printed to each device by category selection. Hey, I just paid for the extension. It still doesn’t show up on my admin panel. How does this exactly work ?

The caching issue was fixed in v3.0.4-beta.22 so the item will appear in the admin dashboard after purchase if you are using the latest version.

@bima the settings very much depend on your local printer setup, so a video would not be universal. Feel free to reach out to me on Slack and I will guide you as best I can.

Thanks, the problem has been fixed, but the order total information is missing in the order receipt.

bima as in the info is blank or the variable remains in the print out? Might be easier to reach out on slack and we can debug.

I’m assuming you are using USB? Are you using a version of chrome or edge that supports web usb?

ryanmitchell Yes its an USB printer setup on Windows 10 with latest Chrome Browser Version 85.0.4183.102

“Setup printer” button click shows following error on the Chrome Dev console

That error means there is no USB support on the browser.

when you type in ‘navigator.usb’ to the web / developer console what does it return?

Then your browser either doesn’t support WebUSB or there is a setting preventing it from running. You would need to do some investigating on your side to enable it.

@bingobonzai No, the issue is on the browser/computer you are using to access the system. Most of the code is run locally in javascript.

Request your support for investigation as the extension wont be useful for me if i am not able to Setup the printer.

@bingobonzai as I said it will be something on your computer settings - maybe a security policy that needs opened up. You also need to be running your site over HTTPS otherwise WebUSB is unavailable.

Meanwhile; will it work within Android/iOS Chrome browser and Android Webview as well?

ryanmitchell after setting up ssl i was finally able to get USB device list pop on “Setup Printer” click. I selected my “Canon LBP 3000 Laserjet” after which it showed its status as paired, however while trying to print a docket its says “Could not connect to printer”. Will it not support a regular (non ECS/POS) USB printer?
While i have already ordered a ECS/POS Thermal printer, meanwhile i was just testing it with my usb laser printer

Also the Print Output format seems to be a Global setting at the Application level. Is there a way to setup a different format for each location?

@bingobonzai I had the same problem and it was that my site was not running over HTTPS. Once you have HTTPS configured it will work on Edge and Chrome. Firefox is not supported as yet.
