Cannot order in pick-up only setting

Hi,

After updating to the latest version I cannot place any order anymore.
I am running a copy of our live website which I updated to test the new version. We are only accepting take-away orders so no delivery is possible. The restaurant appears to be closed all day except when I enable deliveries. The opening hours information in the top corner uses the timeslots information from the delivery table. The button on the right remains on status “closed” except for when I enable delivery.

anthonyvdberghe With the full cart not showing, you probably need to update your child theme partials (there’s been changes to the cartbox and localbox partials) that should also fix the timeslots as well.

Exactly which version are you testing? With 22.2 you should be able to order during the open hours. I have seen the pre-order toggle does not allow ordering outside of open hours. You can test by changing the opening time to before the current time then verify whether you can place an order or not.

roydeanjr Thank you for your reply. I’m running 22.2.
I did test this so opening hours are well within the testing time. As mentioned before I can only order when “Delivery” option is enabled, the button “CLOSED” remains on the right even though pre-order is enabled. I can only change this by enabling deliveries.

The opening hours on top, below “We are open” are copied from the delivery hours, not from the regular opening hours or pick-up hours. I don’t know if this is related but it seems that the whole timing script stays dependent from Delivery and not from Pick-up when disabling delivery.

@anthonyvdberghe Can you try this and let me know if it works for you.

Disable “Offer Delivery”
Enable “Allow Pre-Order for Delivery”. You can set the “Delivery Pre-Order Days in Advance” value to 0.
Enable “Offer Pick-Up”

If this works, I believe you may have identified a bug.

pjscuisine Thank you for your help, however still not working. I have tried playing around with the pre-order buttons as well for pick-up but nothing seems to do the trick.

Also well aware that the settings say monday is closed (which is the case) but with status open it also doesn’t work.

Is your restaurant set for delivery or pick-up by default? One way to test this is on your cart hit the “Pick-up” button and see if the “Closed” changes to “Checkout”.

When trying to add something to the cart I get this message: “This restaurant is unavailable to take delivery orders at the selected time.” The only thing I see in the upper right corner is the “Closed” button which is not clickable.

Seems to me that despite the “Offer Delivery” button switched off, something still depends on it. Probably a bug in the code?
If so I’m happy to make an Issue on Github.

sampoyigi Thank you for the reply Sam. Updated all partials/pages/layouts, had to readjust some options from partials and activate/deactivate deliveries to get it working. (in case anyone is trying the same thing). Pre-order toggles working as well!

sampoyigi Quick question: Why is this required? 1-Orange theme is not writable, you have to make a copy. 2-why is this step necessary in the first place and 3-what exactly needs to be “updated” and how is “updating” done?

I have tried several different actions and the one that seems to be consistent is that when Delivery AND Pick-up are toggled on, you can toggle Pick-up before the store is open and actually place an item in your cart. If Delivery Pre-Order is off you cannot toggle Pick-up on the menu list page.

So, with that in mind, what is the exact solution. I really do not like shooting in the dark and trying all kinds of actions to try and get something to work. It was not like that before, why is it “acceptable” for the app to be like that now?

anthonyvdberghe Can you remember what exactly you did to make this work? 1-duplicate the Orange theme? 2-Open EVERY template and click Save to “update”? 3-etc?

roydeanjr You’ll only have to update your partials if you have a copy of the same partial in your child theme, if not the system loads the updated partial from the orange theme instead.

What’s the issue you’re facing? might be different from OP.

The locations lists admin page will be fixed in the next update.

roydeanjr I copied and pasted the contents from the new orange theme in the child theme, however was still experiencing problems updating so now I started from scratch using composer.

Another anomaly is that the Locations list in the admin page shows all locations as Offer Delivery and Offer Pick-up as Disabled when they are clearly turned on when I look at the Location Details via the edit pencil.

It did, but after trying to update a new copy of the website it kept crashing on the install so I gave up trying and started from scratch. No more issues now with theme files and working hours and now I’m able to update using composer.

sampoyigi I did not have a child copy of the Orange theme to begin with. The code was a new install with data from 2.1.1 migrated into the new tables via scripts I have written. So, basically a new install with only old data. Will that make a difference?

Is that a bug and the routine for adding to the cart is looking at only Allow Delivery Pre-orders?

roydeanjr Could be that data gets corrupted or missing when migrating from 2.1.1. Using the Setup Wizard with your v2 database will handle all the migration needed for the upgrade from v2 to v3. Maybe try to save the location page again just to make sure the columns have the right values.
